EDIT: Rematch with a Terrakion and Cobalion and the net decides to do cut me off. Again WHILE I WAS WINNING! Seriously, WTF someone doesn't want me to get higher then 1321. I feel like quitting but a friend wants me to keep going

I am not doing well, hahah. I really should have play tested this team a bit more before running with it. But for a team with huge flaws, it's doing alright I guess. Maybe I just suck haha!


But I'm definitely doing badly because of things like poor predictions, poor leads, poor partners etc. I don't know, I usually don't play this badly. I'm definitely still having fun though; losing just sucks. xP But it's a pretty cool experience. I'm excited to keep going, and ride this tourney out. (:

Not this time around. It was definitely a fun experience, but time tables do not sync up as nicely as I'd wish, me being in Japan, and the rest of my cast being on both sides of America (meaning they are in different time zones) or Canada. But we will eventually do it again, though when and for what I'm not 100% sure yet. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!

Anyways, let's get a bit of talking going.

Are any of you guys doing anything while playing in the tournament?

Personally, I've been having a few Pokemon-based podcasts running in the background, particularly the Lava Pool as they are a VGC-based show as well, which can help get my brain stimulated.

I'm currently just letting Fall Out Boy play in the background though. It's been a while, and I really feel like music right now vs. people talking.

im not oing that well in the tournament tho.
i'm 15-15-1 and i might stop playing it, idk why but my team isnt working that well and im using the one i brought to the autumn friendly :/

Not currently, talking to a close friend of mine who lives in America, we both work together in proving Smogon wrong with Pokemon and tactics that down. If things continue down this road, I might try a new tactic. Also, I'm fighting someone with nothing but Pseudo-Legendaries, including a Shiny Garchomp. Why the hell did he give Tyranitar Thunderbolt and Hydreigon Outrage? Even his Garchomp is using what would be better on Hydreigon. Dragon Pulse.

I've got to get my team working better. Mid 1500 with over 50 battles in. Didn't really work with the team before hand so it's good I did so many. Zapdos/gastrodon lead works well. Just gotta get some different partners for them to work with. But I will say that tek/porygon2 combo also works well

A bulky Gastrodon always cause problems for me. As long as it's alive it makes me unable on using my water attacks, and I have a rain team. Also it resists Thunder so I can only really kill it with Giga Drain Ludicolo.

Um. Wow. I haven't been playing much at all (a friend of mine surprised me with FFVII for my birthday, so that takes priority, of course.), but today I decided to have a few more matches. Lost the first and won the next two, and that last one was a complete surprise for me. Higher ranked player with what appeared to be a pretty interesting goodstuffs team. Cresselia, Conkeldurr, Vileplume, Heatran, Sableye, and (I think) Garchomp. He's in his high 1600s and I'm on the borderline of 1500s, so I just kind of roll my eyes grab 4 pokes and prepare for the worst. It looked like going for Trick Room would be pointless, since he has Sableye and Cresselia, and will probably use both of them in the battle, so that rules out my standard lead. However, Sableye + Gliscor (my secondary lead for teams that won't stand for my Trick Room antics) doesn't seem like a good idea either, because if I lose Sableye early on I'm pretty well sunk. It looks like he doesn't use weather, and unlike most other teams I face there doesn't seem to be any need for Lickilicky's elemental coverage. So, I decide to do something I've never tried before and lead with Gliscor + Slowking to sort of test the waters and have Sableye and Gastrodon in back.

I really didn't think I was going to do well in that at all. If anyone is interested, here's the battle vid:

Very interesting match, I've never seen a Sableye use Sunny Day before and it nearly wrecked me without having my Lickilicky handy. I owe the match to my own Sableye tricking that Life Orb away from Vileplume. With that thing equipped, Gliscor would have been doomed.

i am not taking this one very seriously like the last one. instead of aiming for the 1850 area (which i got) like last time i decided to stay around 1725 area. i dont really care as much as last time. also this weekend i had a fair amount of study to do and the tennis australian open finals are on, so i am pretty occupied ^^; i think i will get a few games in tomorrow and try and get to 1750-65. probably won't go for a top 32 ranking like i got to last time.

The one thing i miss in these tournaments are those real intense battles where you have to rely on luck to win. in my case I had an intense battle that ended up with Mandibuzz Vs a Male Jellicent who was under the Attract Status from her. it lasted 20 minutes and in the end, Mandibuzz's Leftovers kept it alive and Jellicent was unlucky to have Attract hold him back enough for I believe was Fly to finish him off... I would of had the video if the failure didn't ragequit after that.

Congrats, I just beat a guy who thinks can fool me with a Zoroark disguised as a Latios. I burned Cresselia first while revealing who Latios was with Eelektross. For having 2 legendaries and an evened gender use this battle (she had more males in her team however) She only managed to defeat my Cofagrigus with Zoroark.

Gah! I keep getting disconnected! I know it's not my Internet, because this is the ONLY game where this happens to me. Is this because I'm playing it on a 3DS?

And I need TEN battles to get that Jaboca Berry? I've only had 4 so far, and one was a first-turn surrender because I was getting fed up of matches I couldn't complete.

Actually, according to this document, you need to finish only one match for the Jaboca Berry.

Good. That's how I interpreted it when I read the rules. There were other people saying that they had to do their quota of 10 matches for that Jaboca Berry.

One thing I noticed was that if I played when I don't expect a lot of people are, such as weekdays around noon or late in the AM hours, I can get matches in without getting disconnected. I should've tried then, but I'll be wiser when the next one comes around.
