BWS2EN-8 - Charizard [FIRST POST UPDATED 2/7]

I surprisingly say that the Charizard of this episode isn't Ash's Charizard. Why?

-Because the summary didn't say a word about Charizard. Only the title references Charizard at all.

-Because the past three times that Ash's Charizard returned, before his apparenace another Charizard appeared on-screen having a relatively big role.

-Because we know that this is a Kanto festival where Oak appears. But we know that Charizard isn't in the Oak ranch and anywhere in the Kanto region. Is in the Charific Valley, place that is in Johto.

Of course, Ash's Charizard will be in the movie and Episode N but I have doubts that will be appearing in this episode fighting Dragonite.

The fact that the newest summary doesn't even mention Charizard makes it pretty obvious to me that it either belongs to a character of the day or Oak, thereby making it less important. If it really was Ash's Charizard, its name would be all over the summary for promotional reasons; I just can't see the studio missing out on another chance to hype it.

Still, this is a good thing imo. It's nice to have an episode that revolves around minor characters' Pokemon. I just hope nothing happens to ruin the Kanto Festival.

Do you realize that there is a month between now and the time this episode airs? We will have new information eventually, and more complete summarys too. They might even be hiding it on purpouse, just to confirm it near the release date of the episode.
Anyways, your points aren't enough to state this isn't Ash's Charizard. If anything, a Kanto related episode, with Oak and a Charmander in it, and written by Tomioka and animated by Iwane is the perfect place for Ash's Charizard return.

With all due respect, I still see nothing that implies that the Charizard is Ash's. I've asked for receipts and I haven't gotten any, just cries of "it's common sense," which is ironic given the anime that we're following. I'm more inclined to believe that the Charizard belongs to someone else because the summaries imply that said Charizard isn't that important.

I will do what some other user said... "save it". There are some people that don't want Charizard back and would hold on to their hopes till they see Charizard burning Ash again. Sad but true. I've given you the receipts, you just decided to ignore them.

I agree. If Ash's Charizard and Iris' Dragonite were battling, that would be mentioned in the summary and hyped up.

At this point, I don't which I'm more bothered by more. Lizardon fanatics who attack others for uttering the slightest negative thing about the lizard or Lizardon complainers who are actually taking said bait and retorting.

Anyway, I imagine we'll find out about the episode more once Pokemon Fan comes out. It hasn't leaked since the Isshu League iirc, so it's due for a leak soon. It usually is around the 14th-21th that it leaks iirc. So, we'll probably find out more about the episode then. I hope we get a flashback and mention to Haruka :3 I'd really love to see her Kanto starters, that would really make me smile since I'm a big fan of her's. Okido-Hakase appearing is cool I guess, don't really care to see any of the Kanto reserves except Kabigon(Snorlax) to be honest so him appearing would be cool.

NEW (February 7):

Ash and his friends have come to the "Kanto Fair", which introduces local products and the culture of the Kanto region. On a stage specially set up for the occasion, Professor Oak introduces Pokemon from the Kanto region. A Charmander which has never visited a different region before, eagerly makes a performance, but in a careless moment it staggers and falls off the stage. Ash and his friends bring Charmander to the Pokémon Center.

THAT'S IT ! I smell already Iris who's taking care of Charmander with Nurse Joy.
And for the episode's title, if there's no battle, I expect something like a rivalry. But I'm pretty sure that they'll take few minutes at the end of the episode to battle.

That's not how the studio/network operates. They always try and hype things up to get good ratings, especially in the BW era where the ratings are free falling.

I know we're not supposed to make generalizations and all, but you're right. I don't understand why it's taboo to say anything remotely negative about Charizard. And it's not as if saying something bad about him makes you a Charizard hater; I thought we were free to have opinions? Like a few days ago when I pointed out that Charizard lost to Blaziken and Dusclops despite his constant training, I had a whole crusade after me for implying that Charizard isn't all-powerful. Like what's that about?
