Which is your favorite pokemon of each generation (currently... not 6)

Which pokemon do you think is the most popular from each generation? (which you think most people would say was his or her favorite, this can be the same as your favorite, but that pokemon will only get 1 vote, not 2)

This is meant to be based only on design, and not gameplay mechanics... so saying Magikarp because he's weak isn't what I'm hoping for.

I'm going to try to pick the top 2 liked and top 2 least liked from each generation for a top 20 sort of thing.

You can pick any pokemon, not just fully evolved ones. If some pick Pikachu and others pick Raichu, both will get a score for their family tree to be in the top 20, but the one with the most individual votes will be the one to represent. (let's say 31 people pick mew, 30 pick lapras, 20 pick pikachu, and 22 pick raichu... The top two of gen 1 would be Mew and Raichu, make sense?)

My answers...
in order of my favorite , which I think is popular , least favorite , which I think is unpopular

Gen 1: Rapidash, Charizard, Hitmonchan, Muk
Always loved the fire-horse theme, almost everyone loves Charizard, Fighting has never been my favorite type and hitmonchan just looks weird to me, and everyone's quick to throw muk under the bus.

Gen 2: Ledian, Suicune, Sudowoodo, Dunsparce
Despite being pathetic I like Ledian's look, people rave about Suicune day and night, I don't really dislike any gen 2 pokemon but Sudowoodo's always been a little boring for me, hard decision... I don't hear much dislike for gen 2 pokemon but I think Dunsparce simply because he's been forgotten by gamefreak and there wasn't much else for me to go on.

Gen 3: Masquerain, Metagross, Swalot, Nosepass
Masquerain is a pretty awesome looking bug, Was between metagross and salamence so I flipped a coin, Swalot's also kind of boring and weird... I don't really know why is poison when its theme is eating things, Nosepass is also quickly thrown under the bus cause of the whole "i have a big nose" thing

Gen 4: Luxray, Togekiss, Probopass, Bidoof
Luxray is pretty BA, This one was harder for me so I had to resort to some in game usefulness as everyone and their mother will have a Togekiss on their team, the mustache killed me, and its easy to get tired of the wild pokemon you run into 83% of the time in Diamond and Pearl.

Gen 5: Whimsicott, Hydreigon, Conkeldurr, Garbodor
Whimsicott's cute and awesome at the same time, Hydreigon is also pretty BA, I wanted to go with the 3 fire/water/grass monkeys as I found it really unnecessary and kind of boring but I didn't think that was fair so went with Conkeldurr as the veiny business grosses me out a little, and Garbodor is also quick to get thrown under the bus.
