And I'm finally done.
Rank: Novice Mage
Goal: To solve the mystery why his shrine is experiencing such a drought and investigate the omens.
Description: Takusen stands at a medium-tall height. His build is slender and slightly athletic. His limbs are rather slender, giving him a more lithe appearance. His torso has a tiny bit more muscular definition, but nothing near that of a bodybuilder. On his right hand is the marking that has earned him the epitaph of Kyogre’s oracle. It is a strange, sapphire red marking similar to the lines on Kyogre’s fins. His face is heart-shaped with serene, blue-grey eyes. His navy hair is a moderate length and is often tucked behind his ears.
Takusen’s wardrobe, as one would expect from anyone associated with one of the shrines, has a highly traditional influence. He wears a sapphire-hued, knee-length yukata with a thin, white obi tied around the waist. For modesty’s sake he wears a pair of matching swimsuit modeled after a pair of Brazilian trunks with a white pokeball pattern on his left hip. He compliments this wardrobe choice with a pair of geta made from cherry wood and simple, white tabi. Takusen’s posture is always poised with a body language that exudes confidence. His single greatest identifier, however, is a blue cord necklace that he almost never takes off.
Personality: Takusen is a rather quiet individual. That’s not to say that he hates talking with others, he just simply prefers to observe others and contemplate matters. In addition he is an avid seeker of truth and will often be one of the first to investigate any local mysteries. If anyone approaches him or at least sees past his quiet demeanor, they will find that he is actually quite cheerful. It is rare to see him without a kind or uplifting word to say, especially to those who are in need of one.
Takusen is generally sweet and gentle around others. In addition quite intelligent when compared to most of his peers; however he would not be intelligent enough to be considered a genius. Despite his intelligence he is not pompous or aloof, but rather humble and down-to-earth. He tends to be very formal and well mannered. One thing he hates to do is make waves; he would even say something that completely goes against his personality just so that everyone else will get along. Takusen knows very little about the world outside of the shrine and can often come across as sheltered.
History: When Takusen was still an infant he was found by Brawly and his father. He was laying in a basket on the beach near the shrine with the waves crashing on the shore. The family took him in and raised him at the shrine. Even from a young age the family found the marking on his hand strange; however things began to be clear up for them once he was five. On the night before Brawly’s graduation ceremony Takusen had his first dreamed premonition in the form of seeing what Brawly’s guardian would be and their name. It was also around this age that a wild carvanha began frequenting the area around the shrine. Over the next three years Takusen began bonding with it, resulting in him making his first technical capture at the age of seven.
When Takusen was ten he began testing for mage potential. During his first exam, the administrator was nearly overwhelmed by the power he sensed coming from the boy. During his time of preparation for his other exams, several years after the first exam, Brawly took his adoptive brother on a trip to Mt. Pyre. It was here, that Brawly and the old couple helped Takusen to control his power to see the future. One day Takusen was meditating in front of a pool near to where Brawly the Sapphire, a sacred artifact of Kyogre’s, when he had a dark premonition. He could not recall what exactly happened, but in the end he called out for Kyogre with enough panic to startle Brawly and the titan. Less than a month after this premonition a drought struck the shrine. He has now resolved himself to find out what happened to Kyogre and investigate the mysterious omens all around Hoenn.
Spells Known: Due to being raised at the Shrine of Kyogre Takusen’s spell list is as follows: Detect Magic, Mail, Bubble, Dream* and Water sight.
Bubble: A basic water type spell, Takusen focuses his aura into producing small bubbles that pelt his target.
Dream: Ever since his childhood Takusen has been able to see glimpses of the future. This is his oldest spell and one he has very little control over. Sometimes, when he’s asleep, Takusen sees vivid glimpses of future events. Though he doesn't fully recall the details, he often remembers major events.
Water sight: Ever since his childhood Takusen has been able to see glimpses of the future. Unlike dream, he has full control of when he uses this spell; first he meditates in front of most bodies of water such as lakes and pools. Then, while in the meditative state, he can see past the water’s surface and consciously use his foresight. This spell requires a great deal of concentration and is not guaranteed to be successful.
Personality: On one hand, Kenshin is a cool, collected stoic with a keen eye for detail. He is highly investigative and, much like his mage, will reach for the truth with every fiber of his being. On the other hand, Kenshin has a strong naďveté when it comes to how others act and can be extremely gullible. If he and Takusen aren't careful, they will be easily taken advantage of by those who wish to manipulate them.
Moves: Bubble, Water sport, Charm
Origin: Jet frequented the Shrine of Kyogre as a Cahrvanah and befriended Takusen when he was seven. He has since then become a valued part of Takusen’s team.
Ability: Speed Boost
Personality: Most regard Sharpedo as the “Bully of the sea” and fear them. Jet, however couldn’t be any further from that. Contradicting his specie’s norms at every turn just seems to be in his nature; Jet has always been highly social and playful, even as a Carvanha. In addition he is fiercely protective of Takusen, often acting like a bodyguard. One way Jet does act like a typical Sharpedo is his occasional brashness. In addition to this is his impatience.
Origin: Himiko hatched from an egg that Brawly had given to Takusen for his twelfth birthday.
Personality: Himiko is a brash and bold tomboy. To her it doesn’t matter that she’s a girl, she thinks she can hit as hard as any of the guys. She has a hair-trigger temper that has been known to make even a Salamence back away slowly. In addition to this fiery temper is a very colorful vocabulary. Despite the fact most humans hear it as pokespeak, anyone who hears her, especially when she’s angry, hear a string of obscenities that could make a sailor blush.
Origin: Takusen caught Miko on a trip to Mt. Pyre with Brawly. The two were training in preparation for his exams when a wild Chimecho attacked. A small battle ensued between Jet and the Chimecho, which resulted in Takusen capturing her.
Personality: As her name would suggest, Miko is a calm and graceful pokemon. In many ways she could easily be the blue oni to himiko’s red oni. Unlike Himiko, she is very slow to anger and is just as formal as her trainer in mannerisms. She is very cool and collected about how she interacts with everyone.
