Lately, I've been doing a no-evolutions run of Pokemon Soulsilver on which my current team is Chai (female Chikorita), Caldera (female Slugma), Quagmire (male Wooper), Notch (spiky-eared Pichu), Caesar (male Nidoran), and Kismet (female Meowth). I guess you could say my theme-naming is improper nouns that start with a "c" and/or a c/k-ish sound (except for Notch, but she's pretty much just the crazy, time-traveling outsider or something). Actually, one of the main reasons I did this in the first place (besides wanting something challenging but not quite as sadistic as a Nuzlocke) was so that I could have a team with the spiky-eared Pichu on it without causing her to be horribly outclassed.

I hardly use nicknames for my Pokemon and when I get suggestions for nicknames, I rarely put it into play.

    Default Pokemon nicknames?

A good nickname for cranidos and ramparados is '' Zidane.'' Zidane is the french guy who head butted the italian during the world cup final in 2006. He is a soccer player. Cranidos and ramparados are the '' Head Butt Pokemon'' according to http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/409.shtml

A good nick name for hitmonlee is '' Ndamukong.'' Ndamukong is the foot ball player ( american football) who stomped on the green bay packers player. He also kicked Matt Schaub in the groin. Hitmonlee is the '' Kicking Pokemon'' according to http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/409.shtml.

nope, i never really nickname at all. it seems unprofessional in battle and i can never think of a viable nickname if i ever even consider nicknaming something.

Sound cool. Sometimes I use footballer's names for my pokemon too.
Like Chicharito for my shiny Roselia I use in Jpn W2.

I'm sick and tired of seeing people post their lame Pokemon nicknames, all people do is look up something related to it (Such as searching "boxers" for Hitmonchan) and then act like it's good just because it's relevant.

Generally I don't name my Pokémon, unless I get inspired by them. It takes me months to think up Player names. I regret calling B2 Rosa Kat. (I named W1 as Kat too.)

Well, I named by female Bulbasaur Acacia. It's a name for certain group of plants: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia

Named my Charmader Agro after TF2 player/Kritzkast host, who's a Pyro.

Paras as Momo-hime, after the character in Murasama, since the Paras knows False Swipe and Spore.

    Moving to polls.

Only for those that I can think of. Let's see what I can find...

    Omastar: Spiral
    Tentacruel: Jelly
Mightyena (female): B!tch (Censored for moderators' benefit) (It is the only time when this word is warranted: it's a female dog/hynena)
    Delibird: St. Nick
    Noctowl: (female) Hedwig; (male) Errol
    Drifblim: Hindenburg (fitted with SelfDestruct)
    Lunatone: Moon Rock
    Solrock: Rockstar
Magby: Gustav (after the Carl Gustav. I will be evolving it into a Magmortar)
Typhlosion: Flambe (I wasn't able to find the é for the last letter)
    Blaziken: Firebird
    Infernape: Wukong
    Feraligatr: Croc
    Swampert: Swampy
    Empoleon: Skipper (see Madagascar series)
    Golem: Rocky
Crobat: X-BAT (very lame: came from its German name)
    Walrein: Hynemann (see Mythbusters)
    Tyranitar: Godzilla
    Volcarona: Mothra
    Garchomp: Chompy
    Gengar: Spooky
Stantler: Rudolph (too bad it does not have a red nose)
    Drapion: Scorpio
Fearow: Jack (see Pirates of the Carribean)
    Hitmonchan: Jackie
    Hitmonlee: Bruce
I should probably name my Hitmontop Eddy.
    Crawdaunt: Crawford
    Lucario: Wolverine

I tend to nickname my pokemon but as to what varies. I have nicknamed them after people I know or people from books.

    I like to nickname
    But I don't do it a lot
Only because I'm picky and would be changing it all the time.

I might change this however with Pokemon x.
I might nickname my starter , but that's all I think.

I generally only bother to nickname Pokemon that I'm using on my team, but I think I give pretty good nicknames! Right now, I am about to begin a SoulSilver Nuzlocke, I'm giving my Cyndaquil the name Nakota, which means friend, in the Sioux language.

I try to nickname them, but sometimes I forget... ;-; I nickname them real names. Like Emolga: Esperanza, Azumarill: Avery, Zangoose: Vladimir, Beedrill: Boderick.
