There's also the fact that FPS and other types of gun games (Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Fall Out, Etc.) pretty much dominate the game market these days. Can we just move on from that topic?
I always felt the Playstation had a lot of underrated RPGs. Saga Frontier, Legend of Legia, and Star Ocean: Second Story were some of my personal favorites.

I'd like a Snap sequel, just to see more of the pokemon actually in motion. But yeah, it was not very well received early on, as far as I can tell. No matter how much it's liked now, I think that'd be a huge stumbling block, sadly.

Besides that, I really didn't. Yes, I've heard a lot about Pokemon on hear and DeviantArt, but in a lot of other places I go to, all I EVER hear about is Call of Duty, or Resident Evil, or other games like that. Heck, even HERE, I hear too much about Call of Duty and such. So for me to say "Any game that doesn't have guns," is actually not as far off as you think. You're just going to different communities. I'm not using made up facts, you are just starting to be a jerk. Case closed. Drop it.

I've seen a few comments on Earthbound, but I can think of a lot of other RPGs that never made it, and a lot of them are overshadowed by Final Fantasy (And to a lesser extent, Chrono Trigger). I remember Secret of Mana, Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia, and a few others.

Now that I think of it, speaking of genres, there are actually quite a few genres that go without saying now-adays. For example, fighting games. I go to a Fighting Game forum where they're obviously talked about a lot, but anywhere else I go there's very little discussion on them. It's kind of a shame because Fighting Games are among my favorite games.

Yeah, most fighting games are kind of niche. I just wish that people who discuss the genre would realize there's more to it than Smash Bros., Skullgirls and Street Fighter... e.g. Guilty Gear.

Yeah. I think Fighting Games period are underrated. Samurai Shodown, Soul Caliber, King of Fighters, Tekken, Darkstalkers, Last Blade and of coarse a lot of obscure one-hit-wonders too like Cyberbots, Warzard, WakuWaku 7, Rakuga Kids, etc.
