Don't care except for Wobbuffett. Wobbufett has to be a lady
Because i use attract a lot, i need both genders and a genderless cyrgonal. So no ^_^

Sometimes I prefer a certain Pokemon to be a certain gender... like, for example: all my Roselia, Ampharos, Vulpix and Plusle have to be female; Gyarados, Beedrill, and Minun are male. It's just how I see those Pokemon.
Sometimes a Pokemon has to be a certain gender if I plan to give it a certain name, although I did name a male Togepi "Misty".
But usually, no, I don't care.
I admit it, sometimes I do. It depends on the Pokemon. xD
In all my Pokemon games, The pokemon I catch, Are all males...
I feel HORRIBLE right now...o-o
SonicLife is my name, And Burning way past cool is my game!
I don't really care which gender I use, unless, like others, its for a specific evolution the pokémon looks extremely masculin or feminine.
I have claimed Empoleon, Super Mario Galaxy, and Rosalina!

I have a Fairy Type Safari with Kirlia, Jigglypuff, and Clefairy!
I really don't care what gender they are but I like to keep my main team to have a gender ratio of 3:3 or 4:2.
(template from Jerkfighter)
i dont care, but females do have less HP.....
my b/w 2 team:

Usually i'll have males and one female on my team. I don't know why it happens but it does.
Otherwise if it male/female looks nicer then i'll catch it
I catch Pokemon based on gender, but by how that Pokemon appears. Gardevoir looks quite feminine, like get a female one; and Lucario appears more masculine, so I get a male one.
That's how it works for me at least.
Nothing interesting here. Carry on.
I catch both.
Just a note for the future. Any time you open with "Not to sound racist/sexist/homophobic/[insert here], but..." whatever follows the but pretty much winds up being [insert here].
It depends. Sometimes, I will really want my starter to be like me, female, but these days I don't really care. I simply set up a proper nickname for either sex and use what works. I try to keep my team relatively even in terms of boys and girls though; let's say, three girl 'mons, and three boys. But that's because Attract is a pain in the butt to deal with.
I don't mind a pokemon's gender, but for my signature pokemon that'd always be my favorite of the team, I'd make sure that it'd be male like me. It's just a thing that your best friend is usually of the same gender but that's what I do in the games.
For my storyline/adventuring team, I am usually more conerned with nature, than gender. Filling out the Dex, however, I usually catch females, so I can breed something ideal, instead of hunting down something passable. Of course, then I get to the daycare with no males
"C'mon guys, back to route 1. Try not to kill everything."
I don't try to get certain genders, but I usually end up getting mostly males (Except for my Black 2 playthrough, where I coincidentally got all females.).
Back from a very long hiatus. Signature and other things under construction! My friend code is 3496-9664-6228, and my friend safari contains Slugma, Growlithe, and Braixen.
Spoiler:- Shinies and credits:
Usually it doesn't matter. When it's a pokemon like MR.Mime or misdreavous, i get a little picky. How can MR. Mime be female? Or Jynx be male?
Credit goes to Mochi10 for the team pose and trophy
Credit goes to PPL for the life of pokemons
How could this possibly be sexist?
Anyways I generally don't care, it is pretty much just a symbol above their name. The only uses for it are Attract which is a terrible move anyways, breeding which I just use a ditto 95% of the time, and sometimes aesthetics. I refuse to use a male Milotic because I want the longer hair.
Thanks to Steel Sector Graphics for the userbar and banner!
Usually, the nature matters more to me. I usually end up with an equal mix of genders on my team though, haven't had an all-male or all-female playthrough so far.
3DS Friend Code: 2337-4080-6077 | Friend Safari (Poison): Cascoon, Venomoth, Muk
Kalos Pokedex completed on 1 January 2014
National Pokedex completed on 7 July 2014
I just catch whatever I find, though in White 2 I got an all female team. I didn't do it intentionally(Except Emboar and Bisharp, who I wanted females of) but it was kind of funny. Other than that my teams are random.
No way, All my pokemon must be female. At least the ones i'll use.
