I did it once with Electric types on White, though I had to trade stuff, but it was good.

    It was
    - Rotom-C
    - Raichu
    - Eelektross
    - Magnezone
    - Galvantula
    - Jolteon

Overall, it was a good game.

are we talking about monotype teams or monotype pokemon? I've never had a monotype team, and actually, I usually never us monotype pokemon either - I like to cover as many types as I possibly can - however, I recently quickplayed through SS and ended up using a Feraligatr, a Magmortar and an Alakazam.

Team wise, it's not really my thing but I wouldn't mind trying a Dragon-type team one day....would have to buy another cartridge or download a rom or something though because I don't think I'd have it as my main team for a specific Gen. :/

I have never done a monotype team but I keep considering it. If I were to do it i see myself using water or normal for the variety of moves they can learn. If I were to do normal though I'd only allow one normal/flying or even none at all.

No, at least not in-game. However, I sometimes use monotype teams for fun in the Battle Frontier/World Tournament/Battle Subway for fun. But even then, I mostly use Latias, Garchomp and Milotic, those three pretty much always do an awesome job for me.

I don't believe I've ever tried to do a monotype team, but as Bolt said, BW2 has a medal for it, so I may have to eventually. It sounds like an interesting challenge, but I prefer using a balanced team.

I have a mono Flying type team in Black 2 and a mono Dragon in SoulSilver. Both were very interesting and enjoyable to use. I'm going to try a Grass monotype soon.

I had almost a Fire team once in Sapphire. I guess Blaziken, Camerupt, Magcargo, Ninetales, and Torkoal, I think. Flygon was the sixth Pokémon though. Later I think Torkoal got switched to a Rhydon, but it knew a fire move as well. As well as Surf. B) It was more like an all fire-breathing team more than a monotype team per se. Everyone at every moment knew an attacking fire move.

I've had some Water Teams before too. I like Water Pokémon! You can get pretty versatile teams going with only Water type, since there are so many secondary types.

I am currently doing a monotype grass run on Black 2.

    Current team
    Ivysaur
    Ferroseed
    Breloom
    Servine

    Future additions
    Turtwig
    Snover

Not bad so far. Fire types can be a ***** but Breloom is fast and knows drain punch so it helps. Ivysaurs poison powder/venoshock combo is nasty. We will see what happens when i reach the E4. After that I plan to do a monotype ground challenge.

I love monotypes, but I have never completed any that I have started.
Apparently, the Kids Bop lyrics of "Thrift Shop" go like this:

Walk into the club, like, "What up, I gotta big heart"

I never done any monotypes, nor do I plan to. The rare exception would be the Type Expert portion of PokeMon World Tournament in Black 2.

It is actually very interesting to see how many people use monotypes, and what ones they use!
And for those of you who never have, start quick! It is very much enjoyable!

I've never done a monotype before, but I'm planning to do a Normal monotype in Diamond with this team: Bibarel, Ambipom, Togekiss, Lopunny, Porygon-Z, Girafarig.

I agree, it really makes you look more closely at strategy, and learn the ins and outs of a types weakness.

I do monotype challenges in game when I'm not doing Nuzlockes. Usually I also have an extra rule that I have to pick my six favorites from the type I'm using, so I end up with a lot of first and middle forms too.

Also, I've been using a mono flying type team competitively in PO against non-monotype teams for a while now. Been very successful.

I've been meaning to do one for a long time, either fire, flying or water. But instead I usually end up doing a Nuzlocke.
