Caught the first episode. It really wasn't all that great as everyone was saying, for a few reasons

I may watch this, but I'm waiting for there to suddenly be a wall of rage at the last episode first so I can talk ****.

But to be sure, giant scissor blades? Has there anyone who's ever wielded big* scissors or scissor-stylized weapons who wasn't massively awesome?

*"big" being relative to their body size because of blatantly trying to put Souseiseki into this category by exceptions

First episode seemed alright, I love the art style and it left me laughing here and there, it definitely stands out from the other anime released this season. I just hope that's not her ahem, final uniform...

The opening seems a little ...unfinished in the animation department. Mostly for the first half.

The episode itself also suffers from a lack of animation. Sometimes it's enough of a gag that it's passable (like Paper Mario Mako) but others it just ends up looking a bit cheap. It's looking a lot more like Panty & Stocking sometimes.

Still a very fun episode to watch, other than that one thing, I'm still loving it.

They're saving budget so they can make a troll ending.

    The teacher is pretty fab

Mako's family (and the teacher) are fantastic, and I'm really loving the ending as well (I thought the opening was somewhat generic, though).
Overall, the second episode didn't feel as crazy, or as purely enjoyable as the first, but it's still a great ride thus far.

The teacher, oh my goodness |D. I thought Mako's dad was something ("Back-Alley Doctor" LOOOOOL), but he one-upped it so much. More pls. Speaking of Mako, she looks to be the damsel butt monkey in distress. Her next punishment should be even more hilariously ludicrous. Satsuki brought up sumo, so that should be something if that's what's happening next.

Dat tennis match. We all know where the budget for this episode went to. Yeah, the animation was somewhat lacking compared to last episode, but it was still glorious to watch. First episode had to make a big first impression, after all, but the battles are looking to be very epic. That's always something to look forward to.

I watched "paper Mario mako", as CC#06 put it, like 5 times, I think I laughed at that more than I should have.

That teacher is awesome, he needs so much more screen time.

So... it seems like the 'battle gear' is here to stay. I'm not actually sure I can deal with that. It's just too bad an outfit for my brain to cope with, particularly given how ****ing cool she looks in her normal clothes. There's so much good about this show: visual flair, comic timing, fabulous villains. But this is the most I've ever felt like a single element of a show could completely ruin it for me. Well, that an the constant stream of rapey gags.

    I love this show.

    The fanservice is great

    The animation is great

    The characters are great

My only complaint is that it's too short, just like Monogatari

My biggest gripe would be if it's a split cour. I hope to hell they don't do that, but one of the posts on that thread seemed to at least imply it

Next thing you know, they're going to talk about how not healing wounds to make swords out of blood will glamorize self-harm as well. Though I'm also a bit surprised they haven't mentioned the scene in Paranoia Agent where three people (of whom one is a young girl) attempting suicide is played for (dark) laughs. Basically the same thing. *beat* Wait...

Kotaku doesn't know what they're talking about half the time. Remember Sword Art Online was the smartest animé in years?

They should just not make articles about animé anymore.

    Or feminism in games.

    Or video games.

Deadman Wonderland, the characters injure themselves (however slightly) in order to use their blood to fight against each other, such blatant glamorisation of self harm and/or attempted suicide.

    We aren't.

As much as I think this series does not look very good, Kotaku is wrong about everything.

As ever. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they were writing those articles from their basements or something.

    THAT WAS THE BEST EPISODE.

That fight was so intense and perfect. Satsuki's grand speech about getting naked makes you pure was fantastic. And then Mako comes and one-ups her with another even crazier speech.

A little disappointed that there was some CG but then I remembered that this is the guy who did the Black☆Rock Shooter fights. But those frames dissolving into each other? Yikes.
