Yes her (I'm still getting used to the names lol). It seems like every Gym Leader aside from Grant only uses one Kalos Pokemon, and I realized that none of the Gym Leaders use more than three Pokemon in total. I'm not sure if that was done to make the game a bit easier, but it's underwhelming all the same in my opinion.

And the jump in levels between Viola's team to Grant's team is shocking. I guess there's a huge gap between the first and second Gym?

Electric gym Leader and Dragon Elite Four are such tired ones to me :L I wish we had Normal elite four and Dark gym leader! It needs to happen! Normal E4 would be really quite hard if you think about it?

I don't think it was exactly to make the game easier because there are some pretty high levels there, but I don't like it either. I think at least the last Leaders should use four Pokémon, like it was back in Sinnoh.

And yes, there is a huge gap between the first and second Gym. It's a long trip.

I feel like Grant is the only gym leader i actually like, hes the only leader who actually only has new pokemon, thats my only disappointment with these leaders (I wont start which types are been used (once again for the 5th time))

What I don't get is that surely, by the last few gyms you'd be training a full team of 6 atleast? So how come they don't have a full team too? It does feel like it detracts from the challenge :L you can limit yourself by only taking 3 I suppose, but them having 6 would be far more interesting...

Also a Ground type specialist this gen would be lol, with Diggersby as the only Kalos choice :S

That's what I do, I only use the same amount of Pokémon the Gym Leader has, but I'm not really a fan of going out of my way to make the game challenging.

    (I miss you, Challenge Mode)

Yeah :L I mean they are gym leaders after all! They should hit us with all they have! Surely, the learning curve surely comes with the increase in levels as you go along? So why do they challenge you with half a team then??

I never played B2W2 so I didn't get to try challenge mode seems like it would have been cool though.

Gamefreak may do what they did in 5th gen and introduce a challenge mode for the third game. The only thing that slightly bothers me about the game is that they kept the whole gym leaders only having 2 or three pokes.

I don't mind the amount of Pokémon on a roster as long as they're a challenge/use good BST Pokémon like Olympia and Slowking/Sigilyph.

Well, when there's only 69 new pokemon, there's only so many you can pick from...

I don't really mind the "no Kalos roster" for the Gym Leaders, so long as it's a bit of a challenge.
I mean, there is only 69 Pokemon, so there is only so much you can do...

What I am a bit peeved off about is that the Gym Leaders only have 3 Pokemon. Unless you can rematch them, I am a bit disappointed in it.

There are tons of Gen 6 Fairy-types though, like Spritzee's line and Swirlix's line and Flabebe's line. So the "only 69 new Pokemon" thing doesn't exactly explain why Valerie only has one Gen 6 Fairy-type on her team.

I wish the gym leaders would have more efficient teams. I mean, seriously? No more than three Pokemon? The last gym leader should at least have 5.

I have a feeling when Pokemon Z version comes out the Gym Leaders and Elite Four will get a impressive team remodeling. So far I'm not that disappointed with the Kalos Gym Leaders. I would have liked to have seen some more Kalos Pokemon but given the limited new Pokemon, what can you do?

I am loving the Gym leaders in this league. Given some time, Valerie woot! She's awesome!
And OMG, the E4. It perfectly fits into the Middle Ages Theme. You've got a Prince (Siebold), a dragon tamer (Drasna), A knight (Wikstrom), and Malva. And I knew Diantha was gonna be the Champion.
Despite the Kalos League members having minimal numbers of pokemon, I think its going to be difficult. Both the gym leaders and the E4, yes. And I looove what gamefreak decided to do with Drasna. A happy dragon type trainer rather than those moody, serious, flaunting dragon trainers. (Yes Drake, Lance, Drayden, I'm talking about you!) Drasna's already one of my favourite E4 members in the series.
    And Siebold is awesome too..

Malva might be supposed to be the jester. Bright colors, card suits theme...

Yes, a Jester. And does anyone know if the E4 around this time are like the B/W/B2/W2 or like the games before? umm.. as in could you challenge anybody if you wanted to or is there any specific order to challenge them?

It seems you can challenge them in any order again.

I don't like that too. The charm of battling the E4 is taken away from you when you can challenge them in any order. It kinda is rewarding when you get past the 3rd Elite four and open the door to the next room. you go YES, FLINT! I JUST OWNED YOU! WOOT! and do a war dance.

It really is unfortunate. The fun of defeating one to move on to someone stronger goes away when you can battle them in any order.

Most of the new fairy types are pure fairy though. I dunno, I think having these older Pokes on there makes for some greater variation. I do hope she gets better Pokes next time around though. Sylveon is great, but there's a better Psychic/Fairy out there than Mr. Mime. And maybe MegaMawile instead of regular Mawile?
