I am a newby on breeding and IV/EV stuff and have seen people talk about "31/31/31/x/31/31" often, as seen pn the previous page.

What does it mean for a pokemon to have "31/31/31/x/31/31" and what does it mean to have a "perfect" pokemon?

    In order 31/31/31/X/31/31 means:

    31 HP IV
    31 Att IV
    31 Def IV
    X Sp Att IV
    31 Sp Def IV
    31 Speed IV

Perfect means all IV's are at 31.

I am confused further now. So the IV of a hatched egg is with these stats? If so, then how does that affect the IVs later down the road?

My current Greninja (at lv 37) has an attack of 67 and special attack of 106. Negative nature on Attack and Super Training on Special Attack
My second Greninja (at lv 69) has an attack of 138 and special attack of 181. Negative nature on Attack and Super Training on Special Attack
My original Greninja (at lv 93) has an attack of 242 and special attack of 230. Positive nature on Attack, Super Training done naturally on Attack and Speed

Based on this relationship, my current Greninja (when reaching lv 70) could have an attack of 134(+/-8) and a special attack of 202(+/-12).
What are you talking about? Greninja is focused on special attack and speed. It's attack is not bad too, although a little lower than it's sp. attack. Also, why Calm nature? It adds to special defense. I really can't see Greninja being bulky.

That is an example of an IV bred pokemon it is flawless bar special attack which the IV is unknown/irrelevant so is X. IV's don't change, you can change the EV's added to a stat but not the IV's.

From what I could tell in its Evolutionary chain its attack has a higher change, but that is from the three that I have trained past lv 36. Here is some recent data with my Current Greninja:

    Frogadier (35) Attack-34, Special Attack-84
    Greninja (36) Attack-62, Special Attack-103
Change Attack-26, Special Attack -16 (After taking acount to a +2 to attack and a +3 to special attack by level up)

Also, my test Froakies/Frogadiers with neautral nature increased in attack slightly faster than special attack. That is the data on my end.

The reason for the calm nature is that I could not find/hatch a modest nature Froakie, what I was hoping for. Out of all the eggs (that would reduce attack) I was stuck with a female with torrent (Greninja #2) and a male with protean (current Greninja).

What seems better for a Hasty Protean Froakie:

If you're using some kind of physical attack (which I would think you are if you're going Hasty), drop the SpD. Otherwise, drop Atk.

Does IV/EV matter? Like what's the difference when it come to training them and in battle?

You must be new here. IV and EV are what makes your pokemon stronger, faster and able to take a hit from your opponent. They give you the best advantage in a battle you could have.

I don't have time to read 55 pages, can someone tell me if a power bracer applies to every Pokemon in a horde? So in a horde of scraggy, for instance, do I get 5 EV per scraggy or 9 for the whole battle?
    Winds, stay with me!

Have: Several Adamant Larvitar with 5 maxed IVs, any whatever order you would like. Currently out if D-Dance Larvitar, however will breed one for right offer.

    Adamant Speed Boost Torchic: 31/31/31/x/31/31

More Torchic and Larvitar than you can count with anywhere from 1-4 maxed IVs, all of the Torchic have Max Attack for sure. Most of both of these have adamant natures.

    PM me your offers.

    Default Edit:

ok I've read through a dozen or so pages but I'm still trying to figure out the best way to determine a pokemon's IVs. I know of the IV Checker in Kiloude city and that he will say "Stats like those... They simply can't be beat! That's how I judge it." about individual IVs that are 31 but is there any correlation to his other phrases and actual IV numbers? Reason being I would like to know all of the IVs for my pokemon even if they're not 31

Well, Greninja's base attack stat is 95 and base special attack is 103, so still higher. If it was increasing faster, that probably means you put EVs in it's attack, right? Also, if you need a modest Froakie I could breed you one (since I have modest Dittos) as soon as I get my charger to work (my chinchillas love to devour the cord of it.)

In need of some help! I spent all night last night EV training Avalugg in Super Training. I used a Reset Bag first so I know it started on zero. I put 252 EV's into Att and 252 Ev's into Def and the last 6 into HP. On the stat wheel (the hexagon with the stats on the Super Training screen) the yellow Def part reaches the edge, as you'd think it would, but the Att stat doesn't. Because they're right next to each other on the wheel I thought it would just be a straight line from one to the other, but it's angled.

I've checked my maths for the Att stat many times and it's always come up to 252. When I had the last 2 EV's to put in, I tried putting them into Att but it said it was full. But why isn't the yellow part reaching the edge of the wheel for Att? Can anyone please explain this, and better yet, tell me I didn't screw up and that their's is the same?

If it helps my Avalugg's lvl 55, has an Adamant nature (+Att -Sp. Att) and it's stats look like this...
    HP 178
    Att 190
    Def 255
    Sp. Att 52
    Sp. Def 60
    Spd 36

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please inbox me as I'm more likely to see that first. If need be, I can probably provide photos and whatnot.
