Default Getting "Crap" past the radar

You know those moments on TV when you realize that they got an inappropriate past the censors and as a kid, you hadn't known. Or when they blatantly get away with something that, at the time and rating, wouldn't have flown otherwise. Yeah, let's talk about those moments. WARNING: this may thoroughly ruin your childhood six ways from Sunday.

    Animaniacs was famous for these:

As is Gravity Falls: Grunkle Stan - Now who wants to put on some blindfolds and get into my car? - YouTube

    Stan Vac - YouTube

    Anyone know any good ones.

You got that right! The Legend of Korra is returning on October 3rd! Mark your calendars!

I don't have a video, but from what I surmise, Donkey got a BJ from the Dragon in the first Shrek movie. I think it was the line "You'll bite it off."

Lots of Bugs Bunny cartoons had some 'crap' that flew right under the radar. Including one time when they show half of his, ahem, genitals, for no reason.

Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy. For a non-video-game example, the f-word in Steely Dan's "Show Biz Kids" remained in the single version.

No, Bugs Bunny's genitals were never shown. That was his tail at an awkward angle in that case.

Also, I feel obligated to note that Looney Tunes and similar cartoons, especially in their earliest incarnations, were aimed at adults, not children. Yes, they're raunchy and violent for something aimed at children, but for something that's targeted at adults... look at adult-targeted media nowadays. (That said, I think there probably was a decent amount of blatantly circling around the Hays Code. Really, you'd have a better argument about the implication in one cartoon that Bugs Bunny was in a pornographic film. Never mind all the racist content, but we only pretend to care about that on the whole, after all.

I think he was talking about his tail, though if she was licking/sucking on it... yeaaaaah...

Ooh, I have a whooooole list of them. Um... well, how about the "Sailor Mouth" episode from SpongeBob? Yes, the words are bleeped out with dolphin sounds and other things, but it was basically an episode about swearing. Some people even say the lips are animated to the swear words.

    And there's this:

        Spoiler:- big image:

And then from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame:

Her dress also is a bit detailed while she's dancing, too. Yeah. The "Hellfire" segment counts as well. All of it. Frollo included. Seriously, Disney managed to get away with Frollo in a family film. Much like how they got away with Ursula in The Little Mermaid. There is no way those two villains would ever be in a modern-day Disney film--particularly in a G-rated movie.

I remember Animaniacs . That show really did get away with a lot. Can't remember any off hand right now though.
Looking forward to the release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Oh yeah? Didn't know that. Though Dexter's Laboratory had one, too, but it was a banned episode...

I just remembered this since my brother is currently watching it. Remember the show Kids Next Door? Well, there's an episode called "S.P.A.N.K." where it has a one-shot (I think he's a one-shot) villain called Count Spankula who goes around spanking children for being bad--though some of those bad things they do are ridiculous as children do them all the time. That would've been it until we reach a scene later in the episode. It's where you see Count Spankula spanking one of Numbuh 3's monkey toys in her room later on for seemingly no reason, and he was smiling until Numbuh 3 walks in and freaks out.

Try not to think about it too hard.

^ Not to mention, the bra episode (for Codename: Kid's Next Door).

Ohhh, I can think of quite a few. For starters, the early episodes of Spongebob Squarepants did this a lot. Along with the aforementioned "Sailor Mouth" episode and the ones not shown in that video, there's also this little gem from the "Texas" episode:
Spongebob: Patrick, your genius is showing!
Patrick: *looks down at his shorts* Where?!

... and this one, from the one where Spongebob throws the peanut at the giant clam:
Sandy: Spongebob doesn't have hair... or does he?

Animaniacs actually does it a lot, too, and I'm pretty sure The Regular Show does it often, though I've never seen it (going from what my brother has said).

I always like it when shows do that, though, especially in more modern cartoons. It shows the writers know that adults might be watching.

Oh good Lord, it's a good episode, but wooooow. Not many kids' show bras let alone talk about them, let me tell you.

Along with the aforementioned "Sailor Mouth" episode and the ones not shown in that video, there's also this little gem from the "Texas" episode:

Pfft, I'll raise you this gem from "Mermaidman and BarnacleBoy III":

SpongeBob: Did you hear that Patrick? He said the P word!
    Patrick: Peanuts?

And yes, until I put the captions on, I swear he said "penis".

Also, remember that (in)famous scene from "Your Shoe's Untied" with the dancing sea anemone on SpongeBob's TV, and Gary comes in and he quickly changes the channel? Yeah, they got away with it again in "Rise and Shine".

Quick question, how many people remember Batman Beyond? If you have no idea what I'm talking about, let me direct you to this video, and come tell me if that's a kids' show or not. I'll wait.

I always like it when shows do that, though, especially in more modern cartoons. It shows the writers know that adults might be watching.
I like it as well, though I do have limits. If they're being extremely blatant about it (I like subtlety), it makes me cringe. That was why Regular Show scared me away when I first saw it.

It really wasn't under the radar so much as I didn't get it until now, but this one is still my favorite.

Codename Kids Next Door. I really miss that western cartoon so much. And spankula, just one of its hilarious villains. But that scene, I forgot about it. But that is referencing to ... well ... I'll just assume its an event that could release a trigger to some people.

So, I'll just ... keep it to myself.

Personally, these inds of shows are the ones that I love the most, just behind shows from educational shows like National Geographic Channel, History Channel, and Discovery Channel

That's one of my favorites from the Madagascar films. Though I always giggle at the thought of Moto Moto having a happy trail. I really don't know why. As is this:

Skipper: Rico, you've had your fun. Pull up. Gear down. Gently. You just want to kiss the ground. Just a peck, a smooch, like you'd kiss your sister.
*Rico slams the landing wheel into the ground so hard that it snaps off*
Skipper: *irritated* I said kiss it!

Early episodes of Tuff Puppy had jokes about Leather Teddy ( a bear wearing black leather biker gear) and a joke "you can make another soap friend in Jail Snaptrap"!.

The Powerpuff girls had a least 2 prison rape jokes, Sexual gags with the Rowdy Ruff boys. The epi were when kissed they "grow bigger" and if by making fun of their masiculity they shrink!

    I'll post more later.....maybe..

I will be on here very, very rarely. The account is not dead, per se, but I will not be on often. This has become a den of hatred, hostility, and anger. It is not the SPPF it was when I joined, and I really dislike coming here. To those of you who were nice to me and were my friend, thank you. Goodbye.

One of my favorites is in The Prince of Egypt where Moses has been fished out of the well and he's getting bathed by all the old ladies.

Moses: Ladies, you've cleaned every inch of me. (Old lady reaches down to Moses' groin) OH! I was wrong!

    Heheheh.
"That man won't quit as long as he can still draw breath, none of my teammates will. Me? I've got a different problem. I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard, always taking constant care not to break something, to break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control for even a moment, or someone could die. But you can take it, can't you, big man? What we have here is a rare opportunity for me to cut loose and to show you how powerful I really am."
