Default The NEW Artist's Corner [Images over 500 KB]

Hello, and welcome to the Artist's Corner!

I made a new thread to clear out that old poll and allow myself a little space to put some fun stuff after the OP for future use. Let's get this show (back) on the road! Old members, please reapply using the new form; this will also help prune out inactive members, in addition to providing new info. This will also ensure I haven't missed anyone, and that all info is up to date like it should be. Sorry, but bear with me!

This is a club for all artists out there who would love to share their experiences with art! You can discuss all of your art needs here. Maybe you have a question about shading; maybe you want to know how much an important tool costs; maybe you just want to hang around fellow artists. Look no further, this is the club!

This club is open to anyone who participates in any form of graphical art, including traditional (painting, pencil drawing, etc.), digital, graphic design, and anything in-between. It doesn't matter whether you do it as a hobby, an amateur who takes commissions, or a fully-fledged professional; everyone is welcome regardless of age or experience level. Feel free to discuss anything that strikes you, ask questions, request feedback, and enjoy art in general!

    Rules

    1. Follow all SPPF rules. You all already know this.
    2. You should be an artist of some kind to join. Again, it doesn't matter whether you do it as an occasional hobby or if you're in art school studying to be a professional, but if you consider yourself enough of one to call yourself an artist, then you're very welcome here.
    3. Stay on topic. Art is a broad discipline, and conversations will always find ways of veering off elsewhere, but try to keep it as related as you can.
    4. Be appropriate with language and imagery alike. While I'm not personally opposed to depictions of mature content (violence and blood, porn, or touchy iconography or subject matter, among other things), some people may be. If you absolutely must post it, make sure to clearly label and LINK TO IT from an outside source, do not image tag it. I'm lenient, but let's not do stuff like this in excess to begin with. Also, try to avoid language that might make people uncomfortable; same idea as the part with images.
    5. Inactive members will be removed at certain intervals. To keep the list clear, I'll probably do a pruning of it every so often and take note of who has or hasn't participated much. You don't need to be creating something to show off, but at least let us know you're alive with a little conversation!
    6. Be respectful to all members, especially if offering or responding to feedback. Critique is a subjective matter, but standard courtesy still applies on both sides. Do not attack someone whose art you don't like, and do not retaliate if you disagree with what someone said about your art. I'll handle disputes, should they arise, on a case-by-case basis.
    7. Please VM me your application to join as well as posting it in the club! Let's continue this trend, since it does make it easier to figure out who needs to be added!
    8. Please also VM or PM me if you change your name, or are about to change it. For ease of keeping track, and so I can go in and change your username on the list. Pretty simple.
    9. Do not quote long or image-heavy posts in your responses, unless you happen to be specifically pointing something out in the image or something. Either trim the quoted post down so it's still clear who you are responding to without being long, or don't quote the post at all if it doesn't seem necessary. An easy mistake to make, but it'll save a few scrolling fingers and a bit of frustration to avoid this where possible.

    Strike/Ban List

I'm sure you all know the basics, but let's go over it again for good measure: three strikes, you're out. Your first strike nets you a warning, the second will get you a one week ban from the club, and the third will see you permanently removed.

It is at my discretion to give strikes or change the consequences, depending on the offense. I reserve the right to give different punishments based on the severity of whatever it was you did, and also maintain that the rules list above is by no means a comprehensive list. Basically, use your common sense and don't try to skirt doing stupid things just because it wasn't in the rules.

Okay, everyone who has applied has been added to the list! You're all free to go about business as usual, by the way -- no need to wait for me, heh.

Although, to kickstart things, let's go with a refresher: What have you been working on lately? Do you have any works in progress you'd like to show us?

Alternatively, if you don't have anything: Have you ever gone back and redone works you completed a long time ago? The second one in particular has been niggling at me as an idea for a future thing we could do... not a contest, since that implies competition, but just as a group event for people to participate in if they please.

I go back and redo banners when I feel I can improve them a lot. Like right now, been in the middle of a 4 month revamp.

Not doing any new sigs until I finish revising my old ones @.@

Yesterday I went and made four new thingys because I was basically dead from boredom (spring break). All four are in my sig along with 3 older things. I still need to fix one though.

I redid the sprites (and by that I mean I added words on the bottom) in my sig from a while back. Other than that I don't really go and redo stuff because I could be making new and better things. I also trash my .psd files after about a week because it takes up a lot of space, so if I notice something later I can't go back and fix it anyway.
Most problems I notice within a day or two and they're usually not all that hard to fix (like being able to see the edge of a gif), so yah.

I'm currently working on my printmaking assignment; I have a few more layers to go. For those curious, I made a sketch which can be found on my first post (it's the second picture link). The print looks similar to the sketch but the background could be different.

Also, I did some painting too:

    And a sprite:

I havent remade a lot of things, actually. I think the only thing I have remade recently was my first TCG Fade Banner:

Well so far the most current one that I was working on and finished was the Frozen painting. which I already showed in one of my links. Right now I have been experimenting with a lot more of wallpaper things especially with colors.. Im not good at picking a color for the final product ._. be it banner or otherwise.

this are the ones I am working on and I don't know which colored one looks best:
    -Orange- -White-

I've never gone back to redo a project I did long ago. The program I use and save the banners and wallpapers doesn't allow me to save in layers. Also I'm not much for re-drawing things I have drawn. I am thinking of doing so though with the painting I made long ago in art class that I do not have longer with me, but I do remember exactly what and how it looks like. I recently bought big canvasses so I hope to give it a go at it soon.

Well, my mom wants me to enter a city art competition, so I did. I'm really behind, though, as it's due in 2 weeks and I'm not even close to being finished. I'm not very good at colour pencil, or traditional in general...     Spoiler:- sorry for the bad quality :/ it's flipped too:

Yeah, only sketches though. I found some from last year's doodlebook and redrew them a few months ago. Here are a few:

        Spoiler:- some OC:

And I think that a group event would be fun, too. Maybe you could add them to the OP to show our distinct styles and stuff. :0

I don't have anything new in particular. I'm trying to use that "Bokeh" style more, though.
Have you ever gone back and redone works you completed a long time ago?
Nothin' in particular, but you just gave me an idea.
