Moon: Played with my two new team members until they had 5 hearts in Refresh. Then I went to the Move Relearner, taught Sacred Sword to Doublade, used a Dusk Stone to evolve it into Aegislash, then taught it King's Shield. After that, I continued training them until they got to level 50. Once that was done, I went back to the Battle Tree. Gave them their held items and withdrew my Salamence. Entered the Super Single line again and started battling. Managed to win the first 10 battles once again. Going to continue from there.

Sun: Trained my team until all members were at level 46, then I continued with the story. Before entering the Vast Poni Canyon, I met Team Skull again. Beat some grunts and got the Poisonium Z from Plumeria, won't use it for my team though. Continued to the Canyon with Lillie, met Hapu again, time for my Grand Trial here on Poni Island. Managed to beat her with ease, which was a bit surprising as I had trouble against her in Moon. Guess the training I did really helped. Decidueye, Ribombee and Wishiwashi made short work of her Pokemon. I got the Groundium Z for beating her, might give it to Krookodile later on but I'll let it hold the Darkinium for now. Continued into the Canyon, to the Altar we go! I headed inside, caught some Pokemon and battled some trainers, but I am still just at the beginning.

Played more of Moon. My completionist desires rise to a peak with the Poke Ride. Completed Lana's trial. Currently I'm deciding who's the better defensive/support partner; Bayleef or Pyukumuku

Moon: Continued at the Battle Tree. This time, everything went well, and I managed to get all the way to battle #50. There were a few scary situations along the way, but my team managed to handle everything without problems most of the time. At battle #50, I got to face Red again. I battled him and managed to win with ease. It wasn't a perfect battle, beating his Venusaur took some time, but I won without any of my team members fainting and there were no major problems in the battle. Decided to upload the Battle Video: ANMW-WWWW-WWW6-9Y2S. For beating him, I got 50 BP as well as another Stamp on my Trainer's Passport, which is great. I'm glad that this team worked so well, and looking back, I should have used it from the beginning instead of my previous team. Going to continue at the Tree and see how far I can go with this team.

Sun: Continued on my path through Vast Poni Canyon. It is quite big, but not as big as I remembered it from Moon. I battled many trainers, found several items and helped Lillie clear her first trial. Also met Mina, got the Fairium Z from her. Gave it to my Ribombee. At the end of the Canyon, I found myself doing another Trial, the last one in the game. It was easy to complete, Ribombee took care of the dragons with ease. As awesome as Kommo-O is, it couldn't survive a Twinkle Tackle. For clearing the Trial, I got the Dragonium Z which I won't use but it is always good to have. Next up, I suppose another "trial" or two awaits me at the altar, but I want to train my team a bit before I go there. Started somewhat but will continue until they all are at level 50. Getting there shouldn't take too long.

FYI the first Pokemon in the Wela Volcano Park area I encountered was the 1% encounter Kangaskhan. If it was shiny, I would've exploded

Yesterday, I was able to EV train both Cosmog and Tapu Bulu. It took a little longer than I'd hoped since I only had one of each Power item (forgot that I haven't earned enough BP on Sun/Moon yet to afford multiple copies of each). But still, it didn't take too long overall.

After that was done, I went to the Battle Royal place to get Effort Ribbons for Cosmog and Tapu Bulu before heading over to Heahea City to visit the name rater. Then, I made some changes to Tapu Bulu's moveset until it had the moves I wanted on it permanently. I also fed and pet both Cosmog and Tapu Bulu on Pokemon Refresh for a while.

Next, I worked on levelling up my Pokemon, mostly to get Cosmog to evolve. I did a lot of training at the Battle Buffet and was eventually able to get Cosmog to level 43, allowing it to become Cosmoem. Tapu Bulu reached level 65-66 IIRC.

Haven't decided what I'm going to do next. I might continue training Cosmoem until it evolves into Solgaleo or EV train one or both of my remaining Tapus. But, I'm also considering finally starting the Ultra Beast quest on this game, since I still need the Sun exclusive ones for my Pokedex.

EV trained my Metagross for lvl 50 battles today in its Mega Form, going for max attack and max physical bulk. The stat calculators I found online didn't work properly for megas, so I built my own stat calculator. Took a little bit of time to get all the rounding working correctly, serebii never displays the rounding on their website equations (which is more notable at level 50 than at level 100) and bulbapedia's equation is wrong. Now I got a good EV spread of 188 HP, 252 Atk, 68 Def, which should yield 179 HP, 179 Def, and 197 Atk at level 50 with a Jolly nature when mega evolved. I just need to hyper train it to confirm, it has pretty bad IV's now.

It's a similar EV spread to the one I used back in Emerald on Metagross for the Battle Frontier, max attack with the rest spread between HP and Def to realise maximum physical bulk, and it was very effective back then on Agility Metagross. I won all seven gold symbols with it. I'm expecting similar results for its mega evolved form, which should be outrunning pretty much everything after a single Agility.

Today in Sun, I decided to catch the next Tapu in order, Tapu Lele. I accidentally killed her the first time with my Incineroar (Quebec)'s Shadow Claw, so I had to reset at my last save point. Tapu Lele was something of a nuisance, continually using Flatter to increase my Pokémon's Special Attack and confusing them, taking out half of their health with Nature's Madness, and generally just being uncooperative in staying in her Ball. I eventually caught her using a Timer Ball, so now there are two more Tapus left for me to catch.

I also checked Poké Pelago to collect the Poké Bean harvest and Festival Plaza for any new Global Missions. During this time, I carried out two trades - one for a Drampa and another for Popplio. After hatching both their eggs, I trained them up a little on Poni Island (with my Lurantis, Fernie, doing the battling) to quickly level up, and my Popplio (then named Vancouver) evolved into Brionne. He is now named Vernon.

I went to eat and fight at the Battle Buffet, grabbing quite a lot of food, then I went to Poni Island to train up Fernie and my Hariyama, Harricott, a little more. I also took lots of photos using the Poké Finder, catching a near-perfect shot of a Bewear at the Poni Plains.

Today I actually had the guts to attempt the Battle Tree with the little confidence I had. I was actually able to clear standard singles and defeat Red, which unlocked Super Singles. For my standards, this was a shocking feat. I used the same team I used to clear Battle Royal Master Rank, which was Goodra, Xurkitree and Celesteela.

I also learned the hard way how stall is really boring. Red's Venusaur was a pain in the backside with moves like Leech Seed, Toxic, Ingrain and Synthesis. It was basically an all out stall war until he finally ran out of Synthesis and I was able to knock it out with Heavy Slam from Celesteela for the win. I also got the Kanto Starter Mega Stones afterwards.

I'm thinking of attempting Doubles sometime, but I'll have to regain my confidence first...

This is pretty cool--I managed to break into the top 1,000 in double battles Ranked due to a 6-win streak on Sunday evening, at 797th overall. And I'm 73rd for double battles Ranked in the United States.

While I'm sure I don't have the top Blastoise, I wonder how the other Pokémon fare. There's a good chance I'm carrying the top-ranked Furfrou.

I wonder how long it'll take before I'm back out of the top 1,000.

I apparently have good luck. The first Pokemon I encountered in Route 8 was Stufful. A Stufful with Fluffy. Move over Politoed, this is gonna be a team member

Moon: Continued at the Battle Tree. Won a few more battles, but ended up losing in battle #67 against a Bewear. It was a rather bad situation from the start, though I could have won if I had played differently with Aegislash/Chansey, or if its Quick Claw hadn't activated against Salamence as it would have been able to KO it with Return. I did a damage calculation afterwards, and Salamence would have KO'd it if it had been able to move first. Battle Video of this loss: C7GG-WWWW-WWW6-ABHT. I lost, but my goal was to beat the boss on the Super Single line and I accomplished that, so it's all fine. I'm not quite done with the Tree for now though, going to do a few more small things here before I move on to something different on this game.

Sun: Started by training my team to level 50. Along the way, I met and caught a Jangmo-o which is neat as they are rather rare. Then I went to the altar. Got to enter the Ultra Space and fight Lusamine, she was rather easy to beat now as well. Once all was done there, it was time for me to catch Solgaleo. Speaking of which, I think it is a really cool Pokemon now that I have seen it in the game. Maybe I like it better than Lunala after all, might have to reconsider. Both of them are really cool though...

Before catching it, I had to do a few preparations. Withdrew a Klefki which had joined me through Poke Pelago, gave it a Wide Lens and taught it Thunder Wave. Also traded over an Abra with Synchronize and the Nature I wanted from Moon. Then I got started. Went back to the altar and saved in front of Solgaleo, then I started the battle. Managed to paralyze and weaken Solgaleo with ease, then I caught it on the first ball. It had the Nature I wanted, so I kept it. It's battle theme is also quite awesome, glad I got to hear more of it this time around. Once Solgaleo was caught, I got escorted to "Victory Road", or Mount Lanakila. But I'm not going to go through it quite yet, will train my team a bit first. Also decided to turn on the Exp. Share now since I will need to train my team quite a bit before the League anyway, and I might as well get started on that now. Will train them a little more, then I'll continue up to the top of the mountain.

Today in Sun, I went to the Battle Buffet first thing to fight some Trainers and eat some yummy food. I felt pretty full after eating all those things I'd won. I then flew to Hano Beach to do the daily Pyukumuku chucking, earning my pay, then I checked out both Poké Pelago (where I harvested all the Berries I'd planted) and Festival Plaza. I'd hatched another male Popplio, named Vancouver, so I put him up on the GTS in trade for a male Rowlet. I collected lots of Festival Coins from my guests, and Sophocles showed up to congratulate me on my Festival Plaza reaching new ranks, opening up a new shop in the plaza as a reward.

I decided to join a Global Mission for hatching as many Eggs as possible, so I went on another Egg-hatching quest, hatching a Goomy and a Gible. I caught another Yungoos and raised him all the way up to Level 20 so as to evolve into Gumshoos, and caught a Dewpider at Brooklet Hill, all to fill up my Pokédex. I went to Heahea City, where I stumbled upon the Game Freak offices and battled Morimoto. His Pokémon were a little bit hard-hitting - his Machamp one-shotted my Toucannon, Thessalon, with one Stone Edge - but I pulled through, and he healed my team up as thanks. I collected a Lemonade from the woman at the reception desk, then I checked out the Dimensional Research Lab, where Professor Burnet gave me a Reveal Glass for Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus to come out in their Therian forms.

My QR scanner works again. Caught a Duosion at Route 16, this one has Magic Guard and a Relaxed nature, so I'm very happy with that. I'm going to train this one up, hyper train it, and use it as a Trick Room setter. No need to breed, as far as I an tell it doesn't have any interesting Egg moves anyway.

i put some decent work into filling the normal pkmn in national dex today. i just got the aromatisse and slurpuff to log and forget about logging the legends on my Sun. the legends are too much work and its not worth logging their data in my gen7 game. i dropped by my pkmn X and got a shiny quirky kelfki in the safari and gave him a nickname worthy of my bad opinion of kelfki's overall design. its probably gonna head over to gen7 for a few link battles and see what i can troll around with.

Decided to participate in the new Global Mission on both of my games, the goal should be easy to reach this time. I guess we are already past it, haven't checked since yesterday. But I will do my part as well, going to do a little bit of breeding on both games relatively soon.

Moon: Did a few more things at the Battle Tree. Started by entering the Double line since I wanted to unlock the Super Double line. Entered with a team of Greninja, Nihilego, Mega Salamence and Celesteela. I was able to win the first 19 battles without problems, got to face Blue in battle #20 and was able to beat him with ease as well. With that, I had unlocked the Super Double line.

Continued with the Multi line, because I wanted to unlock Super Multi as well. Hadn't really scouted any good partners, but I decided to enter together with Guzma as he was one of the three trainers I had scouted. I used Greninja and Mega Salamence on my team, Guzma had Mega Pinsir and Liepard. Unfortunately, it didn't go very well. We won a few battles but got into several difficult situations, then we lost in Battle #9. It didn't work as well as I had hoped, guess I'll make another try with a new strategy. I also need to remember to scout good trainers while battling at the Super lines later on. Will make another try tomorrow.

Sun: Trained my team a bit more, then I went to Mount Lanakila. Started climbing it. Met Gladion at the bottom, beat him and continued climbing. This place would really have benefitted from being larger and actually having trainers to battle as well, right now it feels like a very lackluster "Victory Road", especially after the great ones we got in Gen 5 & 6. Oh well. I found the Icium Z at least, the last hidden Z-crystal and the least regular one I needed, now I have all 18. Won't use this for my team though.

Arrived at the top, met Hau there. Battled him and won without problems. Decided to make some changes to my team before the final challenge. I taught Ice Beam to Wishiwashi thanks to the TM I found inside Mount Lanakila. Krookodile learned Earthquake at level 54, I also taught it Bulk Up though TM as I couldn't think of a better fourth move. Then I gave it the Groundium Z to hold instead of the Darkinium. I taught Brave Bird and Flare Blitz to Talonflame through the move relearner, also gave it the Firium Z to hold. This should hopefully make my team strong enough for all future challenges.

Then I left and headed back to Vast Poni Canyon to train a bit further. I eventually got all members of the team to level 58, which was my goal. Turned the Exp. Share off again. Flew back to Mount Lanakila and bought some more healing items, better safe than sorry. Now, the time has come... for the Elite Four. Which I'll challenge tomorrow.

Still on cleanup breeding, and I've got about 20 pokemon left to whittle down on how many i wanna breed. I think that stuff that's a little diffcult to breed for, like single gendered or genderless pokemon I'll store in the bank for now.

Among the stuff I bred, a shiny Spiritomb hatched when i was looking for a female with Infiltrator. It waa female, but didn't have Infiltrator. It took 4 eggs, my new personal best.

It always pisses me off in a weird way that my shiny luck is so good, I get a shiny before the rarest encounter/the pokemon i actually want to hatch. I remember in my 2nd run of Platinum, I found a shiny Wingull in Route 222, before I found the rarest encounter on the route, Magneton. I found the 1/8192 before the 1/20. Was my second shiny in the playthrough as well.

I was also Wonder Trading a bit to clean my boxes. And by "a bit" i mean 3 boxes, because I wanted to trade until it was time for bed. I'll sort through who to keep in the morning.

Competed in the Kanto x Alola competition the weekend before last. Actually went pretty well, considering that it was my first go at competitive battles in Gen 7, and I'm not exactly much of a battler at the best of times anyway. Ended up with a winning record, something like 9-7, although can't remember exactly. My team was:

    Arcanine
    Cloyster
    Mimkuyi
    Nihilego
    Salamence
    Tapu Koko

Very fast, offensive team, which suited my play style, and the 3v3 format well. MVP was a toss up between Arcanine and Tapu Koko. Unlike a lot of the team, Arcanine was incredibly versatile, bulky enough to take a hit or two, great coverage, fast with a priority move to boot, and hit hard too. Got me out of a fair few sticky situations. Tapu Koko was just a beast. So fast, especially with the Electric Terrain, and incredibly powerful. Made for a great lead too, with Volt Switch and U-Turn allowing me to set up well at the start.

Biggest let down was probably Salamence. Went with a Draco Meteor and Z-Crystal special build, giving him two nukes. Unfortunately, I never wound up in the situation were I could really deploy either. The amount of Faries running around made it nigh-on impossible to find a clean opening, and he didn’t really have a plan B, so often ended up being dead weight. Relative lack of speed didn’t help either.

After the competition I went back to work on my Dex. In training the team I’d filled out the rest of the Bagon line and got a Alolan Muk, (although he didn’t make the final cut), leaving me with just Slowking to complete the Melemele Dex. Went to the trainer school and battle the headmistress, who gave me a Kings Rock as a reward for beating her. Then gave it to Slowpoke and put him up on the GTS, where a very kind person called Emma traded my her Slowking for him. If you’re reading this, thank you Emma. With that my Melemele dex was complete

Now on Akala Island breeding some more competitive Pokemon, (imported a few egg move ones from AS) and working on my Akala Dex

i did my part and hatched 60 eggs for the global mission in my attempt for a heavy ball magnemite. i'll follow it up with a moon ball rockruff to get a good 5IV pkmn. the ones with insufficient IVs will make for great trades on GTS.
