Official Stadium 2 Shiny Discussion

i might have found a glitch in pokemon stadium that might hinder shinies just to warn you guys, if you trade a shiny from crystal to blue (sofar known) and trade it back by the use of a pokemon stadium 2 it might lose it's shinyness, i had it a few weeks ago with my shiny poliwag that i caught as a trashpoke to trade something with a friend, when i discvered it i traded it back and it was a normal one i don't seem to recall that this can happen.

I just saw my first shiny I didn't chain/SR for. A vileplume in one of the cups. I"m depresed since I couldn't get it .

I found Eight Shinies. All starter evo's, kingdra, and tyranitar.

Apart from the customary Red Gyarados, i've had the pleasure of seeing a few of my own Shinies on Stadium 2. This includes my Odd Egg Igglybuff (slightly different shade of pink and a green swirl on its forehead), and Bellsprout. Unfortunately, I never managed to see my shiny Pidgey/Pidgeotto and Geodude off my first ever Silver file from 2001 because it corrupted before I got Stadium 2.

I once got a shiny Feraligatr in the Challenge Cup once. Other than the Shiny Gyarados in GSC, this was the only legit shiny I got to use.

i dont understand why theyre called shiny i always thought theyed be a metalic shiney color not just a diff color

I suppose because when they come into battle they shine (or sparkle; I'm pretty sure some people used to call them 'sparkly' Pokemon back in G/S/C. I also recall hearing people call them 'golden' Pokemon for some reason)

It's very noticable in Pokemon stadium 2 (where shinies appear from their pokeballs bathed in pink light and surrounded by a shower of stars) as you can see:

Still have a Shiny Green Beedrill on my Stadium 2 if I remember correctly, however due to the fact the game that belonged to the Beedrill is long gone, he is stuck there forever I believe. Don't have a working 64 anymore anyway

The only shiny I have on Stadium is Red Gyrarados. =/

I had a shiny Magby. It looked kind of cool. Sort of yellow-y instead of redish orange.

All I ever caught was the red Gyarados. I don't remember ever finding a shiny in the wild.

Mew is Pink. If you nick name it, it will change colour slightly in Stadium Games, I believe it may turn red.

Shiny Mews are Blue.

I actually have a shiny blue mew in Stadium 2. I didn't know it was shiny, until I traded it over from my Blue version to my Gold. (Because there would be no way of telling in Gen. 1 anyway) I got it doing the Nugget Bridge glitch. ^_^

I had a shiny Magmar. It was purple-ish. Ugly, just ugly.

I bought an old/used version of Pokemon Stadium 2 a couple of years ago. It had a few Shiny Pokemon like Shiny Gyarados, Shiny Dratini, and Shiny Magikarp. I rarely ever play Pokemon Stadium 2 anymore though, so I don't even know if they're still on there (I think I might have even lost the game lol). Anyway, apart from those select few Shinies, I haven't seen any others in Stadium 2. It might have been cool to see some more :s

Definently had a shiny butterfree. wasnt my favorite but it was SHINY.
