Yup, friends list are international, and there's a "worldwide" matchmaking option that will allow US and UK to play together (and Japan and everywhere else in the world) Regional will match you with your home country. RIvals I think may or may not be worldwide.

I think that may be more than you wanted in an answer

Yeah what firemouse said, as far as the Rivals goes, it matches you up with people that you have already raced against(ex: your rivals. If you have played against 30 people and everyone is in rivals its more than likely you'll have a challenger waiting).

Every body listen there are cheaters out there in fact i just battled one he posted his friend code here in this thread his name is Luigi2.Ok we were racing in the star road and he fell off the course not even a second after and he was all the way in front of me i didnt even see the turtle that picks you up with the fishing net.

Getting it on Saturday, shame that I don't have Wireless Broadband, I am going to have to buy the Nintendo Online Plug thingy. Or I could play it in my Local MacDonalds with the Wi-fi service, but thats a risk because I live in CHAV CENTRAL Portsmouth. 90% of the worlds population of chavs live in this town, so I risk having my Ds broken. But worth the risk, right? =P
