Default Soul Silver Team, for real this time

The last two HG/SS Teams that I made were rather haphazard. For the first one, I just threw a couple of decent sets together and called it a team. My second one, which a few of you will recall, was simply four gimmicks, two HM slaves, and a thread full of WTFail. This time, I'm making a serious team, so here it goes.

Typhlosion@Choice Scarf
Modest
Ev's:252Sp.Atk/252Spe/4Hp
~Blaze~
-Eruption
-Flamethrower
-Will-O-Wisp
-HP Grass

Standard Scarf-Eruption set. Typhlo can do several things as a lead: He can use WOW and throw up a big middle finger to Physical sweepers, he can use Eruption and simply wipe the floor with his opponent, or he can use HP Grass and send Water and Rock types packing. Flamethrower simply functions as a backup STAB when Ty has lost some Hp, thus rendering Eruption useless.

Tauros@Choice Band
Jolly
Ev's:252Atk/252Spe/4Hp
~Intimidate~
-Return
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Zen Headbutt

CBTauros. QuakeEdge provides excellent type coverage, and Zen Headbutt allows him to hit several Ghost type threats like Gengar, while giving a nice bonus of SE coverage on Fighting types that could put a hurt on him. Return for a powerful STAB move over Body Slam, b/c Paralysis support isn't really overly needed in-game.

Vaporeon@Leftovers
Bold
Ev's:188Hp/252Def/68Sp.Atk
~Water Absorb~
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Wish
-HP Electric/Shadow Ball

Unlike everyone and their grandma, I won't be using the Red Gyarados, Vaporeon fills his spot instead. Not really much to say, except that Wish is mainly meant for Vaporeon herself rather than her teammates, although I may pass it on if I get an oppprtunity, since it might help me save some money on Potions. And for the last move, HP Electric is the usual choice, but I may just use Shadow Ball if I get lazy.

Ampharos@Leftovers
Quiet
Ev's:116Hp/140Atk/252Sp.Atk
~Static~
-HP Ice
-Thunderbolt
-Focus Punch
-Substitute

SubPunch Ampy. So bog standard I don't even need to discribe her.

Bellossom@Muscle Band
Adamant
Ev's:252Hp/252Atk/4Def
~Chlorophyl~
-Leaf Blade
-Swords Dance
-Drain Punch
-Return

L0lz U n0Ob, bElloSs0m izz sPecIaL, dUh111!!!
But she has access to Swords Dance, and a fairly viable physical movepool. Leaf Blade for STAB, Drain Punch for coverage and healing, and Return for some coverage that the first two miss. Walled by Gengar, but what idiot would pit Bellossom against a Gengar in the first place?

Hitmontop@Leftovers
Careful
Ev's:252Hp/96Def/160Sp.Def
~Technitian~
-Mach Punch
-Bulk Up
-Stone Edge
-Aerial Ace

This set might be a gimmick, but it's one hell of an effective one. Careful nature and Ev spread give maximum Special defense for the set, and Bulk Up is the buffer for his offense and Physical defense. Mach Punch when boosted by Technitian, STAB, and Bulk Up makes him a sort of psuedo-Scizor. Stone Edge gets good coverage with Mach Punch, while Aerial Ace hits some stuff that the first two miss, as well as gaining a Technitian boost. Leftovers heal him so he can set up Bulk Up more effectively.

I know that this team is incredibly Starm weak, but Ampharos can deal with it effectively. Rate away.

I would say this moveset and I'm gonna do my best on Evs...still learning on those

Hitmontop 180 Attack/-/252 Special Defense/-/76 Defense OR 76 HP
Careful
~Technician~

Bullet Punch
Mach Punch/Rolling Kick
Aerial Ace
Bulk Up

This is a suggestion. Your set is perfectly fine I just like this one better

Other than that, everything else seems fine....I think too standard, but I guess everything is, right?

This team I don't see any need to improve.I know that is not really a rate but this is a good team.

Just dropping in to say lol.

Anyways, your team seems solid, but Victreebell actually does Bellossom's Physcial Sweeping job better

Victreebell@Life Orb/Leftovers
Adamant/Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spe/4 HP
Swords Dance
Leaf Blade
Sucker Punch
Return

Luckily for you it's not walled by Gengar... only downside is it doesn't get Drain Punch

Actually, they fill different roles. Bellossom is a slow but fairly bulky sweeper. Victreebell is a powerful mixed sweeper with meh-ish speed and crappy defensive stats, Hp excepted of course. I prefer Bellossom b/c of this and b/c of Drain Punch, although Sucker Punch's priority for Victreebel is nothing to sniff at.

IMO pokemon like Bellossom and Victreebell only really work on Sunny Day teams, and with Vappy around that's not going to happen any time soon. Besides, if you really wanted to I'm sure you could find fifty SD sweepers that outclass both of them.

Anyway, I think you should move some of Top's EVs into Def so that he can survive before he uses Bulk Up, such as 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SpD or something.

That's all I have to say for now.

^Yeah, but most of the 50 sweepers that you'd name aren't Grass types that are availible in-game for HG/SS. Top's EV spread will be ammended, thanks.

Edit: First post updated in bold, as usual.

If it's a CB set, you may as well go ahead and milk the moveset for maximum power and go with Return. Besides, like you'll really need paralysis support in-game.

All in all, I sincerely hope you aren't going to try and Body Slam a Skarmory to death with a Choice Pokemon.

Of course not, I'm not a complete idiot, y'know, I just like the extra paralysis chance to land faster hits and make switching/walling a problem. Return over Body Slam it is.

Yeah, too bad Leafeon and Tangrowth aren't available IG (Tangrowth I think is later on), even with Leafeon's bad movepool it's got decent speed with good Defense and Attack :/

Lol, I'm thinking too competitively. How about Exeggutor or Meganium? Meganium you'll need to trade for, and I can't remember whether you get Eggy in HG/SS or not, but they're still "viable" options. Oh, well. Stick with Bellossom if you must. In-game I doubt it will make a lot of difference.
