Official Pokémon Colosseum & XD: Gale of Darkness Recent Happenings Thread V2

I was playing XD: Gale of Darkness and wanted Lugia in a Ultra Ball but I ran out and was down about that because I had to start the battle all over to get all those shadow Pokemon he has, anyway I had to try my luck and used some other balls used them up so there was some Great Balls left and after wasting some I actually I manged to catch it! Lugia in a Great Ball! Sadly no one will believe me.

Meh, I'm playing through XD right now, so why not. (I've set myself a challenge where I can only evolve something after beating a Cipher admin, and only by one stage. Any they're all over-leveled because I've been focusing on Mt. Battle and beacuse I wanted an Eevee with Baton Pass)

The last notable thing I did was beat Snattle (therefore letting me evolve Flaaffy, Aron, Phanpy and Eevee) I purified the Shadow Spearow I caught, and added it to the team. It's going to be hard using an unevolved pokmeon so late...

I did all the stuff that I needed, getting stuck in the, going to Gateon port, and finally going to Kamiko's house. Chobin went down fast, but he took Spearow with him. (It would only take a change in the Air Pressure to kill that thing) so I could get the hover scooter and leave.

I restarted XD about a month or two ago and beat the main story. went back to it last night to try to beat Mt. Battle. I plan to use the Cyndaquil I get from it in HG. My team is a bit under leveled for the challenge but I got to the leader of area 7 and lost. His Espeon and Alakazam are too strong for me now. I plan to try to train so they are all level 60. That should give me the boost I need.

Ariados I need to tweak his moveset. I had to trade Walrien to get surf on it. I'd trade in one of my teams from a GBA game, but they are all in the 4th Gen via Pal park.. so I am out of luck there. I don't mind doing it with my team anyway.

I'm trying to get Ho-oh. I just purified my last shadow pokemon and all I have left is Mt. Battle! Also, can Ho-oh be shiny?

I'm currently restarting Colosseum so I can get information for a fanfic that I'll be writing that's related to it...And also to remember the game play.

The last thing I remembered doing was snagging a Shadow Makuhita. (I need to play Colosseum more!)

I just for XD from Gamefly and I think it's a pretty good game actually. I'm kinda sad I never got it before!

One thing that bugs me is only now do I see that Shiny Pokemon DO exist in the game...I've come across a Shiny Smeargle that I cannot snag. *sobs*

Completed the first challenge in the Under Colosseum, and have purified all the Pokémon I have thus far snagged. Hoping to get through the other challenges soon and then progress further with the story.

Restarted Colosseum on Friday, and have up to now reached Pyrite Town. After successfully seeing off Trudly and Folly by saving Rui from them and snagging their Shadow Makuhita, I looked around Phenac City for clues about Team Snagem and Cipher and bumped into a Peon who had a Shadow Quilava. I managed to snag it and moved on to Pyrite Town. As a side note, it's interesting to see all of the Wes x Rui hints that they threw in to the game. Makes their partnership feel a little less artificial than having her just function as your Shadow Aura reader.

I'm currently saved in the Police Station and have snagged a few Shadow Pokemon that trainers on Duel Square owned. My team is looking good so far and I would say that Espeon, Umbreon, Quilava and Flaaffy are almost certain to be mainstays on my team for most of the game.

Well, in Colosseum my main goal right now is to catch the legendary dogs, which I already failed to do twice. When I discovered that I get a third chance in the Under Colosseum, I was like, "Yay!" But first I had two more shadow Pokemon to snag: Smeargle and Ursaring. So I went to the Snagem Hideout and battled a bunch of trainers. Also, I got to use the Pokeball glitch for the first time on those two Pokemon. So even though I found five Ultra Balls in the hideout, I technically didn't use any of them.

Right now I'm in Mt. Battle with a team of shadow Pokemon (Smeargle, Ursaring, Skarmory, Houndoom, Absol, and Miltank), trying to purify them.

Yep, the opponents Pokémon are all in the high fifties - however since you can use six Pokémon to their three/four then the battles aren't too hard to beat.

Since my last update I have completed The Under Colosseum and have headed to the Shadow Pokémon Lab, which I have cleared out and only have Cipher Admin Ein to defeat. Trying to catch his Raikou is a bit of a pain to be honest but I'll snag it soon enough!

I recently started a new file on Colosseum, so my only non-shadow Pokemon are Espeon, Umbreon, and Plusle (who is in PC). I actually just arrived at Agate village not too long ago, so I should be able to purify soon. I have atleast 4 Pokemon that can be purified now, so yeah. Right now, I am working on the part where you have to get through the first ten stages of Mt. Battle an fight that boss. Unfortunately, I forgot to stock up on potions and such so my only Pokemon that made it to the tenth level was my shadow Furret... you can tell what happens from there. Will retry soon.

Finally got passed Cipher Admin Ein and snagged his Raikou - that took longer than expected! Have opened up Realgam Tower and currently sweeping through the building. Just about to take on Cipher Admin Venus again...

So after seeing a nice LP of Colo, I got out my old memory card and started a new XD file.
I would have done Colo, but XD is better in virtually every way so...yeah. Plus I like the Pokemon I can send over in this game better, and my Scramble LG & Sapphire could use a little boost for HG.
This time around, I plan to actually do some of the other post-game content, namely the Under Colosseum and Lucky Egg sidequest. Maybe Mt. Battle. I dunno.


Haven't gotten very far, obviously, but I didn't play for very long.

-Named my guy "LucasX" Generic, but I have like 5 different Lucases and it's hard to keep track of which Pokemon comes from where and oy. And XD is even stupider, though maybe I could have gone with Luxas. HINDSIGHT!

-I really like the battle music, and the models have a nice sheen this go around. I like Chobben's model. Ah, actually paying attention to stuff~

-I talked to the Eevee evolution guy, and chose on Jolteon. The massive special should cancel out the 10% well enough. Besides, stall isn't my forte, Flareon sucks (and you don't really need fire pokemon for this), and I already have perfectly good Espeon & Umbreon from Colo. Evolved it before I left.
-To Agate Village! I pillaged all the items, battled the various trainers, and went to the Eagun
-BATTLE RUSH GO! Sadly I had to buy some cologne since despite all the battling and walking Teddi was still a bar off.
-And then I purified it. Will never understand the game's obsession with Refresh. Don't think I'll really use Teddiursa this go around, though, since I used it in my first playthrough. But we'll see.

I managed to play a bit of Colosseum this morning due to being at home, and I decided to return to the Pre-Gym in Phenac City to give my team a little training after beating Dakim on Mt. Battle recently. First I replaced my newly purified and evolved Hariyama with Shadow Furret and for all of the preliminary battles I used her and Umbreon. Moving on to Justy, I had no end of troubles defeating him due to my Pokemon being lower-leveled than his and Double Team/Sandstorm evasion hax. However, I eventually overcame him and I feel my team have benefitted a little from it.

I now plan on doing a bit more training on Mt. Battle before I progress to the next part of the game, which I believe is the Under. I can't wait to get my hands on Suicune. Woo!
