No wonder we can't get a straight answer out of anyone. Sounds like PUSA's VAs were told something completely different than what 4Kids' VAs were told.

I would not be ready to throw in the towel about the old voices just yet. Money talks. If Pokemon USA believes that loosing the old voices and going with these new voices will damage the franchise they will take the appropriate actions. This could include buying all the contracts of the original voice actors from 4Kids or even just one or two of them. Remember this is a business and as much as we care about the artistic impact of these changes, Pokemon USA cares about the financial impact even more. If they believe it will hurt advertising due to lower viewership or impact video game sales due to lost viewers then they will make a business decision and try to fix the problem. If you are unhappy then let them know. Remember you are the customer.

For those b*tching about how bad the new voices sound, you guys are forgetting about the bigger picture. With PUSA dubbing the show, the show won't be as dumbed down, they won't waste thousands to turn a ethnic food people all over the world eat into American food, Original Music might be kept in and all in all, it will become a much better dub than 4Kids would ever do.

The show wasn't dumbed down to begin with, but I agree the Japanese music is a plus. Anyway, there's no point bringing that into this thread since we're just interested in the new voices for the time being.

Thanks for everybody's concern about the old Pokemon Cast (I cant believe I have to write it as the "Old" Cast)

anyways -- Rachel's post is quite correct --there was never any offer to the old cast to continue our work on Pokemon. To say I'm heartbroken that I can't perform as Meowth any more is an understatement.

Heck, my parrot says "Dat's Right"!

No doubt any conflicts between what the original cast might say and the new cast might say is all from what we are told.

To those of you who have appreciated my work, I'm not dead yet! There will be other shows that I (and the rest of the OVA of Pokemon) will be on. and I do hope you'll look for us there

Meowth will always always be the closest to my heart and I just want to thank all of you that have enjoyed watching him these last 8 years.

FWIW I actually didn't think the new Meowth was all that bad, Just needs to be able to sweetin' him up when needed. Meowth has a soft spot --but then it wasn't really called for in the special.

Wow, the voice actors have come to SPP. Yeah its just for simple explanations but either way its quite exciting.

Anyway I will miss the original voices but I won't let that be a reason to dislike the new ones. I think if they put their hearts into it they can really impress us, and I'm sure the previous VAs will be happy to give them pointers. Remember this is only their first time playing those characters (officially) and I'm sure with time we'll all love these voices.

Oh and Maddie, send my complements to the rest of the original cast. You guys were all awesome and will be missed.

Not just the voice actors, I really hope Pokemon USA is viewing this thread so they can hear all the complaints. This is getting very serious.

Eh-hem..I think the voice actors are horrible. Did you see the part when Brock TRIES to be romantic!! He sounds so dry and stupid.
Ash was also horrble. It's probably just me, but I thought his orginial voice was pretty good.
May....welll...lets just say that we need a recast....
Max..was well ok.....but his voice is too old and deep sounding. What is he, like ten? You reach puberty at like 12 or 13.
Misty (my favorite character) was pretty good. She just needs some more in the emotion department, though.
Oak, was ok, but just a little too squeaky.
The pokemon and the music were quite good too (obviously excluding the introduction.)

Thanks for clearing this up for us. Your a great VA and don't worry were all here trying to get you back. Negative feedback is never good and i'm not going to watch a single episode of Season 9 unless I get to here all the you and the rest of the old cast. The new cast isn't welcome and I am willing to do everything I can and am doing everything I can to get rid of them.

I rather suspected something was off. Especially since the 4Kids cast worked on Pokémon for decidedly non-4Kids related stuff like Puzzle League and Smash Bros.

Once again, yes he does. He sounds almost exactly the same.

I've actually been comparing them with the crappy One Piece dub. So if there not the same them if One Piece eve gets recast them that VA should do Luffy.

Anyway, this is really unfair. Especially the fact that PUSA lied to the new VAs (or NewBrock was the one lying. -_o). In fact, Maddie Blaustein, don't some of 4Kids's VAs work on animes for other companies, too? I think I've heard that somewhere. Anyway, if there is a chance to get the original VAs back, we should take it. (No offense to the new cast, but we've lived witht he originals for over 8 years).

Actually, I emailed them (I should have wrote the URL in the letter I sent, though) with links to this thread and a thread almost exactly like it on another major forum.

Just trying to let people know that the show ISN'T going to bomb as much as people want to think just because the voices got changed.

Many, many shows had cast changes. St. Elsewhere (here I go again >_>) had multiple cast changes and yet had great stories with the episodes.

The only problems I have with the new voices is with James. Seriously, I couldn't even understand a word James said (Except for the motto part).

This whole situation is going to go on all summer e_e;

Thanks! What I find particularly ironic is that I, myself, replaced the original original Meowth when the actor suddenly quit the team after the 29th episode -- we hadnt even aired yet!.

The irony comes in the fact that at first they asked me to do a sound-alike and I refused to do it. I told 4Kids that I would do Meowth my way or not at all. I felt I wouldn't be able to do a good job of acting if I tried to copy someone elses performance. Thankfully they liked where I went with the character.

I hope the new VAs come to that understanding as well. The fact is, folks --That Meowth you guys are used to is me. I put my soul into the little guy. Every bit of scrappiness, tenderness and tears.

I'll always be the fondest of "Go West Young Meowth". If nothing else I'm glad I'm the Meowth that got to do that episode
