I Decided to Change My Rival's Name!

HG: Argenerdì (Silver and Friday the 13th in Italian)
SS: Oréga (Gold and Saw in Italian) The weird part is... the Italian Translation of Saw is Séga, which is almost the same as Sega!

I either named him Mark (out of this guide I had) or [censored] because he annoyed me.

In D/P/Pl, I named the rival Chris.

Im going to go with what I called him in my copy of Gold and that was Paul. It was a major coincidence that the anime character was named Paul as my best friend at the time was Paul so he was my rival, and on his copy of Silver his rival was Brad.
