Ambipom - No more?

I really think we need a thread dedicated to this...

The scan says....

"Ambipom contributes a lot this time! But what fate will Ambipom face after this event?!"

In addition....
- Ambipom hasn't been seen in any movie 12 merchandise
- All of Dawn's pokemon are listed in her bio over at the movie site, except Ambipom.

Ambipom losing the contest in DP123, getting depressed, then playing PingPong in DP124 and getting happy again (and then happily staying at that pingpong place) seems like the path the writers are going for right now.

On a serious note i hope its just a speculation and all. It leaving for ping pong is a bit out there. And when do we have breaks and what episode plays when? O just need a rough estimate as to what episode this will be.

It'd be kinda lame, but doesn't sound impossible. There is certainly reasons to suspect it could happen.

I always thought Pachirisu would be the first to go off Dawn's team, but what have you.

I'm prepared to go into an uncontrollable rant about this and start smashing things all around me if true...meh.

If Ambipom gets released its the DUMBEST thing the writers have done in quite some time. Ambipom loves contests, why would it suddenly want to leave Dawn to stay with some ping pong people?

It's also a slap in the face to Ash fans who like Aipom with him as well.

What the hell is wrong with the writers? How could they release Ambipom? It's just unthinkable!

I imagine Ambipom would be replaced by a 5th gen pre-evo/other random, cute new Pokemon, IF it is dropped. But then Dawn would have 4 small, cutesy Pokemon and 1 huge Mamoswine. Kinda imbalanced, but whatever.

Pardon me, but I have not seen any actual translation of any implication that Ambipom may be leaving. I'd like to see such before jumping the gun, because in the past, many have been misinterpretations. And also, I need continued justification for calling out the idiots who say the gang "always" releases their Pokemon in spite of such not happening since early Johto.

I'd usually call jumping the gun, but things add up. We have a magazine scan which atleast speculates on the outcome of Ambipom, it's not on the Movie 12 poster, it's not in that other group shot of them, it's not on the official site with Dawn's other Pokemon...

I don't think Dawn releasing Ambipom would be impossible. Sure, Ash doesn't do that, but no one says Dawn can't.

I agree completly. However, I know it's unthinkable, but the writers have pulled stunts like this before. There's nothing to stop the crazy amount of power they have.

Mabye they feel that Ambipom doesn't fit Dawn's pathetic team. Then again... Neither does Mamoswine... Ak!

The only good I can see out of this happening is that it would pave the way for the long over due Bunneary Evolution. Also it would allow for another capture by Dawn (ie: Johto Pokemon if there is GSDS, or some other Sinnoh Poke that has not had proper screen time).

Although since it seems this was simply speculation and not fact who knows what will happen other than the writers. And Dawn's Journey has had so many similarities to Ash's early days so far that I would not be surprised by this re-do of the primape incident at all, the are both Monkeys who were obsessed with Ash's hat in their early days.

I completely agree with you CyberCubed. I love Ambipom, and if she left to peruse a Pokemon Ping Pong career, I will be not happy. I like Ambipom with Dawn and was looking forward to seeing her in the Grand Festival. If the writers release her because of one Contest loss, what will that show the kids who watch the show? It's like telling them to give p on something after one try, and Dawn giving Ambipom away after a loss seems too OOC for me.

I hope that's not true, because I like Ambipom. I can't really imagine a Pokémon of the twerps being released for a long time or forever, the last time was Misty's Togetic I think.

Ambipom, while not the most amazing poke around, would be a shame to lose. Dawn doesn't have the most amazing set in the world, and it would be crazy to drop one of her better pokes.
As it has been said, this has been done before, and there's always a chance, but for the sake of all that is holy, I hope it isn't. >.o

It could win the contest as a goodbye sort of thing. Kinda like how people thought Dokucale was going to leave because it finally won a contest.

Ambipom is not going to be released. Pokemon belonging to Ash co are no longer released, they are kept throughout the region and then left wherever for the new one. Only Team Rocket releases Pokemon anymore, the writers finally realized in Johto that the fans didn't like it when the heroes did that, which is probably why Ash got Squirtle and Charizard back for the Johto league.

I really don't want Ambipom to go. She's been a really good Pokemon on the team since Season 9 when Ash caught her. if Ambipom is planning to be released, I believe we will see some crying on the screen, and the viewers. I'd actually rather have Ambipom be send back to Johannah, Dawn's Mom, instead. Way better then leaving the team.
